Writers who have significantly influenced my train of thought with respect to education, culture, ESL practise, and general thought provoking ideas are captured here.
The format will be a brief overview of a specific work. If a writer has a number of works highlighted in this section, or there are a number of writers whose work covers a specific topic, they will be captured as a category, either by the writer’s name, or by the topic. In some instances other writers may be included under a specific writer’s name if they provide a critique of that individuals work.
The field of ESL certainly contains many educationalist contact points, however, of all its contributors the one who has resonated the most with me is Paulo Freire … and while he is not known as an ESL contributor specifically, his work in literacy, critical education and making education more human is well known. So it is here where I will begin.
